The festival features independent films from around the world
The Sundance Film Festival is one of the most highly anticipated events in the film industry. This year, the festival will be held from January 18-28 in Park City, Utah. Every year, the festival features a diverse lineup of independent films from around the world.
This year’s festival will feature over 100 films from 29 countries. These films will be screened for an audience of over 120,000 people. Of these films, there are 12 that are competing for the top prize, the Grand Jury Prize.
Some of the most highly anticipated films at this year’s festival include:
“The Farewell” – A Chinese family discovers their grandmother has only a short while left to live and decides to keep her in the dark about it, scheduling a wedding to gather before she dies.
“Honeyland” – A woman who lives in an isolated Macedonian village tries to save her honeybees and also help her sick mother.
“Luce” – A black high school student’s success is called into question when his white teacher finds a disturbing essay he wrote for class.
The lineup for the 2023 festival has been announced
The Sundance Film Festival has announced its lineup for the 2023 festival, which includes films from some of the most acclaimed directors in the world.
The festival will open with “The Green Knight,” a new film from director David Lowery. The film stars Dev Patel as Sir Gawain, a knight who must confront a fearsome green-skinned challenger (played by Joel Edgerton).
Other films in the lineup include:
“The Mother,” from director Darren Aronofsky, starring Jennifer Lawrence as a woman struggling to deal with her teenage daughter’s pregnancy.
“The Voorman Problem,” from director Bennett Miller, starring Martin Freeman as a psychiatrist who is called in to evaluate a prisoner (played by Adrien Brody) who claims to be God.
“We Are Who We Are,” from director Luca Guadagnino, starring Chloë Grace Moretz and Jack Dylan Grazer as two teens who fall in love while living on an American military base in Italy.

“Crip Camp,” a documentary about a summer camp for disabled teenagers;
“Dick Johnson Is Dead,” a documentary about a man dealing with his own mortality;
“The Farwell,” a drama about a Chinese-American family dealing with their patriarch’s terminal diagnosis;
“Miss Americana,” a documentary about Taylor Swift; and
“Save Yourselves!,” a comedy about two people who decide to unplug from technology.
